Yep, still suck

Still suck at this, but I'm here.

Work has been...difficult lately. I love my work, but the stress level has been incredibly high for close to a month now, and there's no end in sight. I keep praying for peace and a resolution. Hopefully soon.

I'm turning :gasp: 30 on Saturday. WOW! We're both taking Tuesday off, so we'll have a long weekend to celebrate. We're actually planning to paint the living room, dining room and hallway over the weekend. I know we're also going to have a date night this weekend to celebrate just the two of us. Very excited about that!

My babies start back to school on Tuesday, which is the real reason for taking Tuesday off. We'll both be home to get them ready for their first day at school and do drop off and pick up. I'm very excited about that! While the kids are at school, we're going to get massages. I can't wait for that!

I must have been incredibly uninhibited Saturday evening, because I got a tattoo. I was nervous and scared of the pain, and I honestly didn't think I would do it, but I did. It's a small black butterfly above my left ankle. LOVE IT! It didn't exactly feel good, but certainly bearable. So glad that I did it!

It's off to bed to cuddle my handsome prince for me. :-)

Pit to Distress

A good friend posted a link to unnecessarean.com on her blog, and this article struck me incredibly close to home. While I had never heard the term "pit to distress" prior to the birth of my daughter, that's exactly what happened to me. Baby shows signs of distress, no cervical progress, crank up the pit. This is a must-read for any expectant parent.

It's a beautiful Saturday

Okay, I'm really going to try to do this more often.

The kids and I are all ready to go, just waiting on my handsome prince to get home from work. Then we're going to head out as a family and have lunch and run around town a bit. Tonight, Brian's going over to a friend's house to watch UFC 100.

I'm heading to Dallas for training on Tuesday. It's a one-day class, but I'm still trying to decide whether or not to spend the night Monday night. I'll have to be on the 6 AM flight on Tuesday, or I can fly down at 6 PM Monday night and spend the night at no cost to me. An empty bed and sleeping in sounds really tempting, but I won't get to see my family Monday if I spend the night. Decisions, decisions.

Heather, thank you for the inspiration with the blog redecorating! I love it!

Is this thing on??

Yeah, so I'm not so hot at blogging regularly. Anyone who knows me shouldn't be surprised.

Life's going well here. Lots of changes. We sold JSC so that we can enjoy more time as a family and really just live life instead of constantly stressing and cramming and going. What a fabulous decision that turned out to be. Of course I miss my baby, but it has totally changed our lives. We're relaxing and playing and enjoying each other. I feel so free to enjoy my children and my husband. I am very glad that we made the change.

I've also been working on losing weight since November-ish. Okay, I really didn't start actually trying until January. LOL So far, the count is 41.5 lbs down. I am so incredibly proud of myself and empowered. I'm jogging, working out, eating less, making healthier choices and reaping huge dividends. I have so much energy, and I'm seeing huge changes in my body. LOVE IT!

My baby boy turns 2 in 2 weeks, so I need to plan a birthday party this weekend. I can't believe he's almost 2.

Can I go outside now, please?

Oh my goodness, it's a gorgeous day! The high today is going to be 71 degrees. How heavenly! Of course, we're back to the 40s tomorrow. Argh.

Pop over to my business blog (www.jennyssimplyclean.blogspot.com) for info on how to win a JSC gift certificate! :-)

Argh. Phbt. Grr.

Why can't people just lead drama-free lives?

I'm very frustrated. It seems that some slanderous allegations are being made by a certain WAHM that we stole our formulations for our products. To everyone out there who is listening, here are the facts:
  • Our formulations are our own, and were devised without any knowledge of the ingredients of other homemade products made by competitors
  • We choose to take the high road and do not comment on other WAHM's products. We feel that there's room for everyone in the WAHM world and that we can all peacefully co-exist.
  • We believe that our competitors make quality products, and that each of our products are unique and have their own benefits.
  • We choose to allow our products and customer service speak for themselves, rather than trying to bash other companies.
  • For the products in question, if you would just look at the ingredients of our products and theirs, it's quite simple to see that they are NOT the same formulations.
  • There are hundreds of homemade products like our own out there, and none of us were the first to "invent" the product. We're all a version of the original. This does not mean that we copied or stole from the original.

To all of our loyal customers who are so kind in sharing the Simply Clean love and support us, we are truly grateful and humbled. Rest assured that your kindness and efforts are not unnoticed, and we are consulting legal council regarding action against the persons responsible for this slander.

If anyone has any questions or concerns about our products or their ingredients, we are always available to calm any concerns.
